Sylvan Rene Herskowitz

Sylvan is an Economist in the World Bank’s Development Impact Evaluation Department (DIME). He completed his PhD in Agricultural and Resource Economics at the University of California, Berkeley and also studied at Johns Hopkins’ School of Advanced International Studies as well as Wesleyan University. Previously he was a Research Fellow at IFPRI and is very proud to have served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Niger from 2006-08. His work covers a wide range of topics including (but definitely not limited to) financial inclusion and financial management strategies of the poor, agriculture, and gender (fertility choices, labor participation, and marriage markets).
