Solomon Waliaula holds a PhD in literature from Moi University; Kenya is an Associate Professor in Literature and Cultural Studies at Maasai Mara University in Kenya, Research Associate at University of the Witwatersrand, Department of African Literature. He is a DAAD and Alexander Von Humboldt alumnus and has been involved in cultural studies oriented research on football fandom and related oral performances and popular cultures. He has co-edited a book on African fans of European football, published journal articles and book chapter contributions in this research area. He has also done research and published on electronic media audiences and in cultural production in East Africa.
