Shammah Aliyu Makpa is currently the Secretary General of Cycling Federation of Nigeria. He is also a Senior Sports Officer in the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, Nigeria. A successful career Civil Servant, an accomplished Sports Administrator.
Born in 1981 in Wamba Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, Nigeria.
The quest for a career in sports took him to the famous International School of Physical Education and Sports, Republic of Cuba where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education and Sports in 2007. He also bagged a Masters Degree in Sports Management in another famous institution, Bayero University of Kano, Nigeria.
Shammah Aliyu Makpa has demonstrated his passion for grassroots sports in addition to his professional background as a grassroots athletics Coach, he traveled to India and obtained a certificate in Community Sports Development at the Lakshmiba National University of Physical Education, Republic of India in 2013.
He commenced his working career as a Sports Officer with the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development in 2010. He was appointed at different times to serve in ad hoc committees at various times; Secretary of Ministerial Committee on Nigeria Hospitality Project for Rio 2016 Olympic Games, Desk officer on School sports, Zonal Sports officer, Secretariat Member of the Ministerial Advisory and Coordinating Committee for Team Nigeria during the London 2012 Olympics.
Shammah Aliyu Makpa is a widely traveled man.
