Janet Otte

Janet OtteJanet Otte is a Ugandan with over 10 years of experience in managing development projects on refugees, and women’s rights as well as clinical research in communities within Uganda. She previously led a sports project that used karate and tae kwon do to educate girls about domestic violence and empower them physically and emotionally against it.  Currently, Janet is a researcher with the Bicycles for Development and Cycling against Poverty led by Dr. Lyndsay Hayhurst of York University in Canada. Janet has a master’s degree in development and security from the University of Bristol, UK. She has previously published articles in the Sociology of Sport Journal and International Review for the Sociology of Sport.
