Hetsie Veitch

Hetsie is a doctoral candidate in the Cultural Foundations of
Education and Disability Studies at Syracuse University in New York.
She was the head of the Center for Universal Access and Disability
Support at the University of the Free State from 2008 to 2015 and is a
non-practising physiotherapist.
Hetsie was actively involved with the SASAPD (South African Sports
Assosiation for the Physically Disabled) and the South African
Paralympic Sports movement from 2002 – 2015 when she relocated to the
USA for her doctoral studies. She was the national classification
convenor for the SASAPD from 2010 – 2013 and an IPC Athletics medical
classifier from 2011 – 2016. She was a member of Team South Africa at
the 2008 Beijing Paralympic Games as physiotherapist and classifier.
